UREA FERTILIZER Urea (carbamide) is a form of nitrogen fertilizer with chemical formula CO(NH2)2. Although urea is naturally produced in humans and animals, synthetic urea is manufactured by reacting carbon dioxide with anhydrous ammonia. It is produced in the form of granules or prills. Although chemically same, prilled urea is smaller than granular urea and is more prevalent for its ease of use.
USES
Urea is substantially used as a nitrogen-release fertilizer in the agriculture industry. While 90% of the urea manufactured industrially is used for agriculture, it is also increasingly utilized in the automobile and medical industries. Urea is effective in controlling vehicle emissions and is also medically used, most commonly to treat skin conditions. It is also used in the polymer industry for manufacture of melamine. Urea is most commonly used as an inexpensive fertilizer for agriculture
GLOBAL DEMAND
By 2018, the world’s total urea production reached approximately 200 million tonnes with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for the highest market share followed by North America. The global urea market is expected to grow at CAGR of greater than 2.5% to cross $65 billion mark by 2021-2022. This growth is driven by the need to improve food security for the rising population and stringent environment regulations for automobile emissions.
We at HFM steps in to simplify the urea business. We procure high quality urea from different world-class manufacturers and offer it mainly to Asian countries. As government procurement polices are different among countries, we step in to simplify it and make a win-win situation for both buyer and seller.
